Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is seeking a School Kitchen Assistant to support meal preparation and service for students and staff within the Nutrition Services Department. You will help with lunch setup, food presentation, and basic food safety practices to ensure quality meals.

The role involves cash handling, selling meal tickets, and using POS equipment, while keeping accurate records of meals and milk deliveries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• FWPS employee or guest employee with Nutrition Services.
• Experience in customer service and cash handling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Kitchen Manager with lunch set-up and clean up.
• Serve meals to students and staff, handle cash and tickets, and operate POS.
• Record meals sold and maintain cashier station records.
• Maintain clean, safe kitchen areas and proper food handling.
