Job summary

Federal Way School District’s Nutrition Services is seeking a School Kitchen Assistant for Olympic View K-8. You will assist with lunch set-up, serve meals, handle cash at the lunch counter, and maintain records of lunches sold.

This role requires a high school diploma, current FWPS status, and a reliable schedule; you will work 2.5 hours daily, five days a week, following district safety and sanitation protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current FWPS employee or guest employee with Nutrition Services.
• Work scheduled hours on a consistent basis.
• Experience in service industry and cash handling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Kitchen Manager with lunch setup and cleanup.
• Communicate and serve meals to students and staff; handle ticketing and cash.
• Maintain records for lunches sold and milk deliveries as assigned.
• Follow sanitation and safety protocols in daily meal service.
• Attend contracting meetings and support positive customer relations.
