Job summary

Wayland Public Schools is seeking a reliable Food Service Worker for Loker School. Under the Kitchen Manager, you will assist with food prep, meal service, cashiering, and sanitation, ensuring safety and high-quality service.

The role requires lifting up to 30 pounds, teamwork, and adherence to school nutrition standards. Competitive part-time hours are offered with a comprehensive benefits package for full-time roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous food service experience preferred but not required.
• ServSafe Certification, Allergy Awareness Certification, and Heartsaver CPR Certification preferred.
• Ability to lift and reach a minimum of 30 pounds.
• Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, temperatures, and kitchen safety.
• Experience working with diverse populations and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare raw and cooked foods for daily meal service.
• Heat foods for students and staff.
• Prepare salads and sandwiches.
• Serve food with proper portions.
• Operate MOSAIC POS system and cashiering.
• Follow HACCP and food safety standards.
• Maintain daily kitchen cleanliness and sanitation.
• Assist with allergy/dietary accommodations.
• Rotate through food service responsibilities and participate in staff development.
