Job summary

Qualifications

• Some kitchen experience and ability to work with students and collaboratively with others.
• Learn all kitchen and serving jobs including food prep, snacks, inventory and cleaning.
• Willing to take direction and multitask throughout the day.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Passion for working with students and a friendly disposition.
• Owns doing a quality job and follows safety rules and regulations.
• Excellent organizational skills and a self-starter attitude.
• Flexible and able to take direction from leadership.
• Good interpersonal skills with students and staff.
• Collaborates with faculty, staff and administration; can make adult decisions.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license is required; able to supervise students.

Responsibilities

• Assist students and staff cooperatively in food service and related tasks.
• Lift in excess of 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Work at special school functions and ensure security of property.
• Meet daily attendance requirements and maintain hygiene on a daily basis.
• Maintain a clean uniform and high sanitation standards.
