Job summary

Los Alamitos Unified School District is seeking a Food Service Assistant III to assemble, prepare, cook and serve food items for a high school or middle school station. Responsibilities include maintaining records and cash handling at POS, while upholding health and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Some high school and two years of experience in quantity food preparation and service.
• Must possess a valid Food Handler's Certificate required by the local Health Department.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve appropriate quantities of food for an assigned workstation in a timely manner, assuring quality and quantity of foods prepared.
• Maintain daily records of foods prepared and sold and count items remaining; submit records to supervisor.
• Assemble and prepare a variety of food items such as entrees, fruits and vegetables; make salads, prepare fruit cups, etc.
• Prepare a variety of scratch type items such as dressings and sauces; open cans, mix, wash and measure.
• Set up work and serving areas; stock serving lines; display and maintain POS merchandise.
• Receive money from students and deposit into point-of-sale; make change; assist in counting and reconciling money at day end.
