Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library Science or licensure required for NC school library media coordinator.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with students, staff and parents.
• Strong knowledge of library media terminology and technology to enhance instruction.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Adherence to confidentiality in local, state and federal policies.

Responsibilities

• Follow all school, district, state and federal rules and procedures.
• Organize library media facilities and resources to support school goals.
• Collaborate with staff to design and implement plans for teaching, technology, and program management.
• Assess learning needs of students and staff and plan accordingly.
• Instruct students and staff in effective use of information and promote reading and lifelong learning.
• Lead collaboration to select resources addressing curricular needs.
• Maintain accurate inventories of print, nonprint and tech materials; evaluate program.
• Work with other libraries/agencies to share resources and interact with students, staff, admins, and public.
