Qualifications

• Masters degree preferred; govern by Tennessee rules and collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

• Creates an educational environment conducive to learning and prepares instructional materials.
• Maintains classroom behavior standards and manages classroom operations.
• Assesses student progress and reports to parents, administrators, and staff.
• Plans curriculum and prepares lessons meeting student needs and state requirements.
• Collaborates with parents, administrators, specialists, and staff to develop educational programs.
• Develops learning materials aligned to student abilities and interests.
• Instructs using strategies to improve language, cognition, social and emotional development.
• Maintains accurate records and assists in policy implementation.
• Sponsors student activities and tutors as requested.
