Hamilton County Schools in Chattanooga, TN, seeks a library media specialist to uphold foundational beliefs of school libraries and lead the district’s library program for 45,000 students, including CSAS, a Paideia magnet school.

You will collaborate with teachers to provide access to resources, promote digital literacy, and develop literacy across grades while managing cataloging, instruction, and program planning.

Formación

• Master’s degree preferred; Tennessee license required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with students, staff, and community.
• Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple library services and programs.

Responsabilidades

• Support instructional needs and promote literacy across the school community.
• Develop learning activities aligned to state standards and reflect the school’s mission.
• Teach self-contained classes if required and support teachers with instruction.
• Assist students and staff in navigating online resources and research tools.
• Recommend strategies, media, and digital resources to enhance instruction.
• Provide resources that reflect local communities and diverse cultures.
• Promote digital literacy and safety in classrooms through lessons and guidance.
• Lead library program planning, cataloging, displays, and resource management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and participate in professional development.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliant library operations.
