Responsibilities

• Creates an educational environment conducive to learning and prepares instructional materials.
• Establishes classroom behavior standards and maintains classroom management.
• Assesses student progress on a schedule and communicates reports to parents and staff.
• Plans curriculum and prepares lessons to meet student needs within state requirements.
• Collaborates with parents, administrators, and specialists to develop educational programs.
• Creates learning materials tailored to students' abilities and interests.
• Instructs students using strategies to develop language, cognition, and social skills.
• Motivates students and provides ongoing feedback on learning activities.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policies.
• Assists administration in implementing district policies and school rules.
• Sponsors student activities and tutors as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
