Job summary

Concord Community Schools seeks an Assistant Principal to provide administrative leadership across elementary and middle schools under the Building Principal. You will counsel and discipline students, supervise activities, and support staff development.

The role requires Indiana certification and strong organizational and communication skills. Responsibilities include coordinating calendars, supervising teachers and student teachers, and acting as principal in the principal's absence while

Qualifications

• Appropriate certification as required by the Indiana Department of Education.
• Ability to plan and organize.
• Skills in human relations.
• Ability to communicate effectively before groups of students and parents.
• Other qualifications as deemed desirable by the School Board.

Responsibilities

• Formulates student personnel policies.
• Plans and supervises school and student activity programs.
• Talks with and disciplines students in attendance and behavior problems.
• Supervises students at assemblies and athletic events.
• Coordinate student activities to include: clubs, assemblies, homecomings, etc.
• Observe and evaluate teacher performance.
• Works closely with the principal in supporting and encouraging participation in staff development programs.
• Acts as principal when principal is absent.
• Works with administrators to coordinate and supervise student teachers.
• Establishes accurate and appropriate master calendar within deadlines established by the central office and maintains an accurate printed weekly calendar for teachers and students.
• Communicates with custodial services concerning usage of building for activities.
• Coordinates student fund-raising activities.
• Supervises summer school activities.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
