Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Building Level Administrator License.
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience at middle school (grades 5-8).

Responsibilities

• Assists the Principal in the overall administration of the school.
• Assists in the development of schedules of classes and extracurricular activities.
• Plans, implements and oversees student registration and scheduling.
• Assists in safety inspections and safety drill practices.
• Supervises attendance reporting and collaborates with counselors for follow-up actions.
• Acts as Principal designee during expulsion process.
• Participates with staff, parents and student groups to advance educational objectives.
• Performs record-keeping as directed by the Principal.
• Supervises and evaluates teachers and departments as assigned.
• Supports development and monitoring of the instructional program.
• Participates in in-service orientation and staff training.
• Participates in Special Education case conferences and 504 processes.
• Oversees end-of-year student recognition and graduation activities.
• Plans orientation and support programs for new and current students.
• Leads professional development for teachers and support staff.
• Contributes to student handbook development.
• Participates in continuous school improvement activities.
• Prepares for and administers state assessments (ILEARN, SAT).
