Job summary

Douglas County School District seeks an Assistant Kitchen Manager to support daily school lunch program operations in select charter schools with limited equipment. Responsibilities include food prep, supervising staff, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with HACCP and USDA standards.

The role requires ServSafe Manager Certification within 6 months, strong leadership, and the ability to work across multiple sites. Primary location at Leman Academy of Excellence; 0.75 FTE, 30 hours/week.

Responsibilities

• Perform all food preparation activities, including anticipating needs, cooking, and baking.
• Guide production and ensure proper temperature, appearance, and portion size.
• Calculate and record production quantities and inventory.
• Operate computer and cash box; ensure monies are collected and recorded.
• Maintain kitchen financial records for the Colorado Department of Education.
• Lead inventory processes and coordinate with the Kitchen Manager.
