Job summary

Benton Community School District in Van Horne, IA is seeking a Food Service Worker for the Middle School/High School building.

You will perform dishwashing, warewashing, serving, basic food prep, and related kitchen tasks. The role requires reading and following recipes, maintaining sanitation, and reporting to the Food Service Director.

Starting pay is $19.00 per hour. The position covers 180 student days plus prep and continuing education days for staff; schedule may adjust with kitchen needs.

Qualifications

• Certified on an employees medical examination form to be fully qualified in health.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read and calculate standardized recipes and have experience and/or knowledge in quantity food preparation.
• Regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Duties include dishwashing, warewashing, sanitizing tables, trash disposal, and serving.
• It may include Food prep, Cooking, Baking, and other clean-up duties.
• This position also includes other duties as assigned.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
• REPORTS TO: Food Service Director
• JOB GOAL: Prepares or assists in the preparation, cooking, and serving of a variety of nutritious and attractive foods to students in a safe and cost effective manner that supports the goals of the District.
• FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
