Job summary

The Gardner School of Chelmsford is hiring a School Kitchen Staff member to prepare and cook meals for our preschool program. You will manage menus with the director, maintain inventory, and ensure meals meet safety standards in a state‑of‑the‑art kitchen.

Responsibilities include ordering supplies, food preparation, and sanitation, with no late nights or weekends. Qualifications include SafeServe certification and experience in school meal prep.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of dietary allergies and food safety.
• Experience with large-volume cooking and menu execution.
• Ability to follow budgets and food safety guidelines.
• Good communication and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Confirm weekly menus with school director.
• Adhere to budgetary needs and order supplies.
• Prepare and cook meals per approved menus.
• Ensure correct temperatures and proper food handling.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen area and dishwashing.
• Support classroom needs when required and attend to safety.
