Job summary

The Gardner School of Cincinnati is seeking a School Kitchen Support Staff member to assist in preparing meals, maintaining inventory, and ensuring food safety in our state-of-the-art kitchen. You will support menu planning, monitor temperatures, and keep the kitchen clean and organized each day.

Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma, SafeServe certification, and a willingness to work with young children.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of dietary allergies and food safety regulations.
• Experience in food preparation, including large volumes.
• Proficient in cooking techniques and methods.
• Experience with menu planning and meal preparation.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good time management and multitasking.
• Attention to detail and organization.
• Able to lift up to 60 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Confirm weekly menus with director.
• Adhere to budgetary needs.
• Maintain inventory and place weekly orders.
• Prepare and cook meals per approved menus.
• Ensure food is cooked and served at correct temperatures.
• Keep kitchen clean, sanitized and organized.
• Dishwashing and cleanup.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and nutrition guidelines.
• Perform duties with or without accommodation.
• Assist in classrooms as needed.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Have knowledge of dietary allergies.
