Job description

St. John Vianney Catholic School, WI, a Pre-K through Grade 8 seeks a team-oriented, caring, and professional kitchen manager for the 2024-25 school year. SJV Catholic School is a WRISA accredited Pre-K-8th grade Catholic school with smaller K-2 class sizes and a warm, family atmosphere. Our mission includes faith, academics, and service.

We are currently hiring for a Kitchen Manager / Cook position. Previous experience working in a childcare, educational or institutional kitchen setting preferred.

Responsibilities:

– Prepare and cook food for children and staff.

– Purchase of before-school grab-n-go breakfast.

– Working with volunteers to serve lunch and maintain kitchen.

– Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards.

– Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner.

– Follow proper food handling and safety procedures.

– Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area.

– Assist with inventory management and ordering food and supplies.

– Adhere to dietary restrictions and special requests from customers.

Experience:

– Previous experience in food handling and preparation in a large kitchen setting cooking for large groups preferred.

– Knowledge of basic cooking techniques.

– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

– Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.

– Familiarity with dietary guidelines and restrictions is a plus.
