Job summary

Primrose School of Algonquin is seeking a Food Service Teacher – School Chef to prepare nutritious meals for children during morning hours. You will work with the director to follow menus, ensure food safety, and manage portions suitable for young learners.

You will oversee inventory, assist with ordering, and supervise kitchen activities in a warm, supportive environment with a Monday–Friday, 7:30am–1:30pm schedule.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food preparation and kitchen management.
• Strong skills in inventory management and control.
• Ability to manage food service and catering operations.
• Experience in supervising and leading kitchen teams.
• Knowledge of dietary requirements and food production.

Responsibilities

• Encourage healthy eating habits through delicious and nutritious foods.
• Maintain awareness of allergies and dietary restrictions.
• Follow daily menu prepared in collaboration with or by the Director.
• Assist with ordering food and calculating the amount needed.
