Job summary

Knolls Vista Elementary in Moses Lake (Moses Lake School District 161) is seeking a Server Helper to assist with meal preparation, service, and cleanup. Qualifications

• Valid Washington State Department of Health Food Handler’s Card.
• Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain industrial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with district staff, students and the general public using tact and courtesy.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic math calculations; order products and supplies according to attendance and production requirements.
• Knowledge and understanding of all S.P.I. requirements for food services.
• Demonstrated ability to change menus based upon proportioned quantities.
• Ability to complete production records and maintain accurate meal counts.
• Ability to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and district personnel.
• Demonstrated punctuality and good attendance.
• Alternatives to the above qualifications may be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of meal preparation including food preparation, cooking, assembly, service, and clean-up of meals.
• Order and receive food deliveries from base kitchen and central warehouse as needed.
• Supervise and instruct student workers assisting with the meal period.
• Follow proper sanitation, safety, and temperature control procedures per state standards.
• Maintain a safe work environment and report problems to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Exhibit excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food Services Director.
