Job summary

Northshore School District 417 Wellington Elementary in Woodinville, WA, seeks a Cook Assistant to prepare and serve School Meal Pattern lunches. You will assist in cooking and maintaining sanitary, orderly kitchen operations under the Food and Nutrition Services leadership.

Position is 193 days/year, 3 hours/day, with benefits and SEBB eligibility for eligible staff; salary placed according to the district schedule and experience, with state retirement participation.

Qualifications

• Must be neat, clean, alert and able to communicate effectively with staff and students.
• Strong basic math and ability to follow written instructions.
• Must be able to stand for long hours and lift 30 pounds.
• Must have or obtain a Food Handler’s permit.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and service of all menu items for Breakfast and Lunch.
• Learn and operate ovens, range, dishwasher, slicer, grinder, proofer, steamers, and mixer.
• Maintain a clean kitchen with sanitary working conditions.
• Contribute to routine requirements of the School Meal Pattern lunch.
• Communicate effectively with administrators, co-workers, parents, students, and others.
