Job summary

Lincoln Elementary School is seeking a dedicated cook for a part-time role (3.5 hours per day) to prepare nutritious meals for students. The position emphasizes food safety, teamwork, and efficient operation in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities include preparing meals per recipes and nutrition guidelines, maintaining clean, sanitary prep areas, assisting with menu planning and inventory, and supporting staff during meal service while adapting to changing dietary needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in cooking or food service is a plus.
• Food safety and sanitation certification preferred, able to obtain on the job.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals and snacks in accordance with established recipes and nutritional guidelines.
• Ensure that all food is prepared and served in a safe and sanitary manner, following health and safety regulations.
• Assist in menu planning and food inventory management, ensuring ingredients are fresh and available.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas, including proper storage of food items.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during meal service times.
• Monitor and maintain food quality and presentation standards.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities as needed.
• Adhere to all dietary restrictions and special requests from students and staff.
