Nutrition Services Inc. is seeking an Assistant Cook to support the Free Orchards Elementary kitchen. The role involves assisting with inventory tracking, food preparation and service while maintaining kitchen cleanliness.

This position offers a part-time schedule aligned with a 5.75 hour day on a 10-month calendar. Hiring Administrator: Whitney Ellersick. Requires a valid Food Handlers certification and English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in oral and written English communication.
• Proficient with computers and internet-based applications (including email).
• Hold a valid Food Handlers certification.
• Experience with industrial kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of ingredients, supplies and cooking methods.
• Knowledge of sanitation standards and safety regulations for chemical use in kitchens.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inventory tracking and the preparation and serving of food items.
• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area.
