Job summary

Discovery Academy Hyde invites applications for an enthusiastic Assistant Cook to join the school kitchen team, supporting food preparation, cooking and serving meals for pupils and staff. You will help maintain cleanliness and food hygiene to required standards.

This is a permanent, term-time only role at 15 hours per week, with a pro-rata salary of £9,423–£9,573. An enhanced DBS check and safeguarding commitment are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in food and beverage preparation within a kitchen.
• Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Willingness to work as part of a team in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of food preparation, packaging, presentation and service.
• Prepare dining areas and service areas for meals.
• Assist with cleaning catering areas and equipment to required standards.
• Support in serving meals to pupils and staff and maintain hygiene.
