Job summary

Reporting to the Director of Technology, you will collaborate with administrators and contractors to plan, document, and execute cabling projects while ensuring safety and confidentiality according to FERPA and district policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience installing and terminating copper and fiber structured cabling.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between district buildings.
• Successful criminal history check and unprofessional conduct check as required by MCL 380.1230 and 380.1230a.
• Ability to complete and maintain district-required safety training.

Responsibilities

• Installs, routes, terminates, and labels copper and fiber structured cabling in classrooms, offices, and district facilities.
• Terminates and tests cabling to applicable standards; documents test results and corrects deficiencies.
• Installs, mounts, and dresses patch panels, racks, cable management, and related hardware in IDF/MDF closets.
• Installs and relocates network endpoints including wireless access points, switches, cameras, phones, clocks, and classroom devices.
• Troubleshoots and repairs cabling and connectivity faults, working with the Director of Technology to isolate the source of network issues.
