Job summary

Denver Public Schools seeks a Health Technician Paraprofessional to provide basic, routine patient/student care under supervision of designated medical personnel.

The role includes administering first aid and medications, assisting with health screenings, keeping immunization records current, and communicating with students and parents about health issues, while reinforcing health and safety education across campuses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Colorado Driver's license may be required to meet mileage reimbursement requirements.
• Completion of Health Office Support Training provided by District.
• Follows GBEBB-R Dress Code for Non Teaching Staff policy.

Responsibilities

• Administers basic first aid treatment for routine injuries and prescribed medication under supervision.
• Assists with routine student health screenings (hearing, vision, scoliosis).
• Reinforces and tutors students on health, safety and hygiene.
• Maintains current knowledge of health care issues.
• Performs inventory and recommends health care supply purchases for proper care of students.
• Monitors and updates student immunization records and retrieves missing records.
• Communicates with students and parents about routine health issues.
• Monitors students at assigned site and reinforces policies and rules.
