ODLS is seeking a School Health Specialist to support student health services across our online learning environment. The role focuses on preventive health services, case finding, health education, and coordinating with families and staff to maintain a healthy school community.
The position requires a college degree, LPN or higher license, and 2+ years in health-related settings. It is remote with Ohio-based residency considerations and a 40-hour workweek at standard school times.
START DATE: 2026/2027 School year, Immediately
Compensation: This position has a non-negotiable salary rate of $40,000.
Residency Requirement: This position is remote, and candidates must reside in Ohio or within 50 miles of the Ohio border.

This is a full-time position. The ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.
The School Health Specialist provides preventive health services to support the education process by working to ensure the health of students in a manner that promotes optimal physical, mental, emotional, and social growth and development. The nurse identifies problems and disabilities and provides such services as case finding, health education, referring and care to help prevent serious health problems which could later be more difficult and costly to address. They help with onboarding requirements, Medical 504 and IEP, and track medical concerns for the school and families.
