The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education seeks a Substitute Registered Nurse for Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled (MSSD). The position is hourly at $30.18 and involves health screenings, medication administration, first aid, and coordinating health procedures within a school setting.

You will help develop and implement a comprehensive school health plan, train staff on lifting techniques and infection control, and ensure accurate documentation while protecting

Qualifications

• Licensed as a registered nurse in Missouri.
• Experience with pediatrics and/or individuals with disabilities.
• The position requires a professional license pursuant to state law.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate and implement a plan for health screenings.
• Coordinate, design and implement special health care procedures.
• Provide training on lifting techniques, basic first aid, infection‑control procedures, dispensing medication, CPR and other in‑service as needed.
• Administer medication and other health care procedures.
• Follow proper nursing procedures and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Participate in staffing and IEP conferences to provide information on the student’s physical and health needs when requested.
• Oversee all SHCP. Make sure they are completed correctly, and all necessary supplies are available. Notify parents if additional supplies are needed.
• Utilize each student’s individual communication system.
• Take a leadership role in developing and implementing a comprehensive school health plan.
• Accurately complete required reports on or before established deadlines.
• Collaborate with building administrator to maintain an orderly, attractive, safe, and clean environment.
• Maintain CPR training instructor certification.
• Maintain confidentiality of parent, student and staff personally identifiable information.
