Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is seeking a Substitute Registered Nurse for the Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled (MSSD). The role offers an hourly wage of $30.18 and requires MO RN licensure with experience in pediatrics or disability care.

You will coordinate health screenings, design health procedures, oversee SHCPs, provide CPR instruction, and ensure accurate documentation in a school setting.

Hourly: $30.18

What you’ll do:

• Coordinate and implement a plan for health screenings.
• Coordinate, design and implement special health care procedures.
• Provide training on lifting techniques, basic first aid, infection-control procedures, dispensing medication, CPR and other in-service as needed.
• Administer medication and other health care procedures.
• Follow proper nursing procedures and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Participate in staffing and IEP conferences to provide information on the student’s physical and health needs when requested.
• Oversee all SHCP. Make sure they are completed correctly, and all necessary supplies are available. Notify parents if additional supplies are needed.
• Utilize each student’s individual communication system.
• Take a leadership role in developing and implementing a comprehensive school health plan.
• Accurately complete required reports on or before established deadlines.
• Collaborate with building administrator to maintain an orderly, attractive, safe, and clean environment.
• Maintain CPR training instructor certification.
• Maintain confidentiality of parent, student and staff personally identifiable information.

All you need for success:

• Licensed as a registered nurse in Missouri.
• Experience with pediatrics and/or individuals with disabilities.
