Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is seeking a Registered Nurse or BSN for the Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled (MSSD). The base salary ranges from $46,272 to $49,872, with potential adjustments for years of service or shift differentials.

The role involves coordinating health screenings, implementing health procedures, training staff, administering medications, and documenting nursing care. A Missouri RN license and pediatric/disability experience are required.

Qualifications

Licensed as a registered nurse in Missouri.
Experience with pediatrics and/or individuals with disabilities.
The position requires a professional license pursuant to state law.

Responsabilités

Coordinate and implement a plan for health screenings.
Coordinate, design and implement special health care procedures.
Provide training on lifting techniques, basic first aid, infection-control procedures, dispensing medication, CPR and other in-service as needed.
Administer medication and other health care procedures.
Follow proper nursing procedures and maintain appropriate documentation.
Participate in staffing and IEP conferences to provide information on the student’s physical and health needs when requested.
Oversee all SHCP and ensure supplies are available; notify parents if additional supplies are needed.
Utilize each student’s individual communication system.
Lead development and implementation of a comprehensive school health plan.
Complete required reports on or before deadlines.
Collaborate with building administrator for a safe, clean environment.
Maintain CPR training instructor certification.
Maintain confidentiality of personal information.
