Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant for Woodridge Local Schools. The role supports clinical and administrative tasks during school hours (M-F while school is in session), onsite at the school.

You will assist with examinations, vital signs, phlebotomy, documentation, and routine office duties under a Provider or Licensed Nurse. Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, completion of a MA certificate program (or EMT/Paramedic), and BLS.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Experience in healthcare environment preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and EPIC EMR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively interfaces with patients and families.
• Prepares patients for examination and records vital signs; phlebotomy as needed; administers medications as directed.
• Collects data for assessment and discharge planning under supervision of licensed staff.
• Collects, processes, and submits laboratory specimens per policy.
• Documents care accurately in the school medical record.
• Performs department-specific clinical duties such as POCT and screenings.
• Maintains examination rooms and supports office tasks as needed.
