Job summary

CREC is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse for the Strive Program in Clinton, CT to provide care for ill and medically fragile students and to act as a health resource for families, teachers, and staff.

Under the direction of a registered nurse, the LPN will implement care plans, conduct screenings, support IEP-related health needs, document confidential records, and respond to emergencies while helping remove health barriers to learning.

Qualifications

• Current LPN Connecticut license.
• One year recent acute care experience preferred; school nursing desirable.
• Excellent communication with students, families, and staff; CPR certified.

Responsibilities

• Administers mandated screenings.
• Assesses student safety and health issues.
• Counsels students and families on health conditions.
• Implements health care plans for students with IEPs.
• Maintains confidential student health records.
• Participates in IEP and interdisciplinary meetings.
• Responds to emergency medical situations.
• Reports health and safety issues to administration.
