Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses for a candidate pool for the 2026-2027 school year. Positions may be full or part time, with annualized expectations based on 1.0 FTE when full time.

The role provides nursing care to students in school health clinics and supports health programs across facilities. Under general supervision, LPNs administer medications, conduct screenings, maintain records, and participate in emergency response and IEP nursing services for

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program; two (2) years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources.
Must possess and maintain a valid Licensed Practical Nursing license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
Ongoing First Aid/CPR certification is required; additional health and safety training may be required.

Responsibilities

Provides nursing services within scope of authority and training; duties may vary according to job assignment.
Performs clinical assessments and monitor vital signs to determine student health status and action.
Administers medications to students under supervision of the licensed school nurse.
Maintains health records and supports vision, hearing and scoliosis screenings as requested.
Participates in emergency response planning and Site Emergency Response Team activities.
