Job summary

Sandy Spring Friends School seeks a Health Center Assistant to join the Health Care Team on our Maryland campus. This Regular Full-Time role supports daily operations, provides care, first aid, medication administration, and documentation of student health needs under the RN director.

The position requires a Medical Assistant with certification or EMT-B, CPR/First Aid, and comfort working with children. Salary ranges from $42,000 to $52,000 with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant (MA) certification or EMT-B preferred.
• Current CPR/First Aid (Adult and Child) or BLS certification is required.
• Experience in first aid and emergency management is preferred.
• Desire to work with children and young adults.
• Knowledge of August Schools and Veracross platforms preferred.
• Ability to obtain Maryland CMT license within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide healthcare services to students during the school year and campers in summer.
• Administer medications under guidance of supervising nurse.
• Document encounters using the electronic health record (EHR).
• Respond to emergencies and communicate with parents and staff as needed.
• Assist with health documentation and inventory of medications.
