Job summary

MARICOPA HIGH SCHOOL is seeking a Health Assistant to support the school health office, assist the nurse with medications, screenings and health records, and monitor supplies. This is a 9-month, full-time position beginning immediately.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and completion of basic health duties in a school setting; Arizona fingerprint clearance is preferred. The district emphasizes student safety and compliance with HIPAA/FERPA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year health experience recommended but not required.
• Valid Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance card required.

Responsibilities

• Attends to students and staff that become ill or have accidents requiring medical attention.
• Maintains health office and health records; assists with immunizations.
• Assists with vision and hearing screening.
• Assists nurses with administration of medications per district policy.
• Monitors supplies and equipment; completes paperwork and reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Principal and Lead District Nurse.
• Keeps daily log of students seen in the health office; completes accident reports.
