Maricopa Unified School District #20 DESERT SUNRISE HIGH SCHOOL - Maricopa, Arizona is hiring a Health Assistant. The role is a 9-month, non-exempt position, 40 hours per week, with a starting date of immediately.

Responsibilities include assisting with student health needs, immunizations, screenings, and medication administration under the supervision of the nurse. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, HIPAA/FERPA knowledge, and basic medical procedures skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical procedures.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and FERPA guidelines, rules and regulations.
• Skill in maintaining files, reports and other medical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Attends to the needs of students and staff that become ill or have accidents requiring medical attention.
• Assists in maintaining the school health office and health records; assists the nurse with immunizations.
• Assists with vision and hearing screening.
• Assists nurses with administration of medications per district policy and Nurse Practice Act.
• Maintains daily log of all students seen in the health office.
