Job summary

Yuma Elementary School District ONE is seeking a Health Assistant to support school health services. You will perform first aid, screenings, and health-related clerical tasks while maintaining confidentiality and following regulatory guidelines.

The role involves daily health interventions, coordinating with parents and health care providers, and supporting classroom health education initiatives in a 183-day calendar. 7 daily hours at $17.50/hr, with non-benefited health insurance.

Qualifications

• SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks and to upgrade skills to meet changing conditions.
• Knowledge of basic math, reading and document composition is required.
• Ability to schedule activities, work with data and use standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Administers first aid, medication and specialized medical treatments for ill or injured students.
• Administers mandated screenings (head lice checks, vision, dental, hearing, etc.).
• Maintains confidential health files and health records.
• Maintains inventory of medications and office supplies.
• Responds to emergency medical situations and ensures appropriate follow-up actions.
