Job summary

Madison Metropolitan School District is seeking a Nurse's Assistant for Hamilton Middle to join the Student & Staff Support team. This 0.935 FTE, non-exempt role starts at $26.46 per hour and involves assisting with student health services.

The position requires experience with diabetes care, CPR/First Aid certifications, and the ability to work closely with diverse students and staff in a fast-paced school environment. In-person work is required, with possible occasional flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with diabetes.
• Experience working in a Windows environment.
• Experience working cross-culturally and/or commitment to cultural competence.
• Licensed RN, LPN, or completion of MATC MMSD School Nurse's Assistant course in the previous 2 years.
• CPR/AED certification and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic emergency care for illness or injury.
• Monitor students' health status during periods of short-term rest or recovery.
• Administer medications and carry out nursing procedures under the delegation of the school nurse.
• Maintain student health records, via computers and patient care records.
• Notify appropriate personnel of emergency situations, including parents, physicians, building personnel, and hospitals.
• Order and maintain all necessary supplies and equipment in the health office.
