Job summary

Whitehall City School District Beechwood Elementary School in Columbus, Ohio seeks a Health Paraprofessional to support the school nurse by providing first aid, health screenings, and delegated health care under a nurse's supervision.

The ideal candidate will hold a High School diploma or GED, an Educational Aide Permit, and current First Aid/ CPR/ AED certification, with strong confidentiality and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Educational Aide Permit issued by Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
• Current certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED (or able to obtain).
• Maintain confidentiality per FERPA/HIPAA and district policies.
• Successful background checks (BCI and FBI).

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and short-term care to students.
• Assist with health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.).
• Assist with delegated health care procedures per nursing standards.
• Maintain and update student health records.
• Support medication administration processes as delegated.
• Enter and maintain health data in student information systems.
• Assist with Kindergarten health documentation.
• Maintain communication with the School Nurse regarding student health concerns.
• Protect confidentiality of health information.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
