Job summary

Health Care District of Palm Beach County seeks an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel to support the School Health Program. The role focuses on first aid, medication administration, and essential health services for students during the school day.

Under RN supervision, you will perform non-licensed duties, assist with chronic condition management, and ensure accurate documentation in electronic health records. Quick adaptation across locations is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CNA/MA/EMT credentials preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in healthcare or school health settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-licensed, delegated RN functions after training and competency testing.
• Administer medications to students per established protocols with parental consent.
• Take and document vital signs and related data as ordered.
• Maintain medication storage, temperature logs, and expiration—document accordingly.
• Provide first aid and injury care as directed by the RN.
• Assist students with diabetes, allergy, asthma, and seizure management after training.
• Maintain infection control measures and proper PPE usage per guidelines.
• Document care and observations in student electronic health files; manage filing and transfer records.
• Float to other school locations as needed to support RN staff.
