Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of grounds keeping practices and techniques.
• Knowledge of general safety rules and techniques.
• Knowledge of tools and equipment used in grounds keeping activities.
• Knowledge of and skill to administer herbicides and insecticides.
• Skill in operating hand tools, mowers and other equipment.
• Skill in basic repair and maintenance techniques.
• Skill in troubleshooting mechanical issues and work orders.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and speech.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Dragging, cleaning and maintaining the District retention areas.
• Mows grass, trims trees, and operates weed eater and other grounds keeping activities.
• Irrigates all sites and maintains sprinkler systems.
• Assists with spraying by administering herbicides and insecticides.
• Assists with fertilization of fields and turf areas.
• Inspects playground equipment and fences and makes minor repairs.
• Operates hand tools and other light and heavy equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
