Job summary

Maricopa Unified School District #20 in Maricopa, Arizona is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain district grounds, fields and outside areas. This is a full-time, 12-month role under Facilities & Maintenance with starting immediately. The position requires a valid driver license and familiarity with grounds keeping practices.

The role includes mowing, irrigation, equipment operation, minor repairs and herbicide/insecticide applications, with salary per the district's compensation plan.

Qualifications

• Driver license required.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 years of experience recommended.
• Herbicide/insecticide spray licensure preferred or obtainable within 6 months of hire.
• Valid Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance card.

Responsibilities

• Dragging, cleaning & maintaining the District retention areas.
• Substituting if necessary.
• Mows grass, trims trees, operates a weed eater and performs other grounds keeping activities.
• Irrigates all sites and maintains/repairs sprinkler systems.
• Assists with spraying by administering herbicides and insecticides.
• Assists with fertilization of fields and turf areas.
• Inspects playground equipment and fences; makes minor repairs when required.
• Operates hand tools and other light and heavy equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
