Job summary

Chandler Unified School District is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain outdoor grounds, perform mowing, trimming, irrigation maintenance, and snow/debris cleanup as needed.

This 12-month, 2612H calendar position starts immediately with a support staff classification. Salary is $19.01 per hour, with full-time benefits and opportunities to contribute to a safe, attractive campus.

Candidates must have a valid AZ driver's license, basic English literacy, and the ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Previous grounds maintenance experience desired.
• Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license
• Ability to read and write English as it pertains to job functions
• Vision and hearing are adequate to exercise duties in a safe manner
• Satisfactory criminal background check

Responsibilities

• Prune trees and trim hedges and plants to promote growth and improve appearance
• Mow lawns with a hand riding mower
• Prepare seeding or transplanting beds by cultivating the soil and adding fertilizer
• Edge with hand or power equipment
• Collect and dispose of leaves and refuse
• Connect, repair, and regulate irrigation systems
• Operate heavy equipment as it relates to grounds duties
• Perform vehicle maintenance on grounds maintenance equipment
• Assist in the construction and repair of sidewalks and fences
• Delegate the work of others as assigned by the supervisor
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
• Report safety/security hazards and needs for major repairs in an expeditious manner
• Assist in the maintenance of all outside game and play equipment areas
• Follow district policies as outlined
• Perform all duties safely and prudently as directed by supervisors
