Job summary

Casa Grande Union High School District 82 District Office in Casa Grande, AZ is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker I to support the District's facilities. The role includes lawn care, shrub trimming, sprinkler maintenance, and general grounds upkeep, starting immediately.

Qualifications include a valid AZ driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and strong communication; you will work with staff and students in a collaborative team environment on a 12-month, hourly/non-exempt schedule.

Qualifications

• Valid Arizona Driver’s License.
• Experience with various grounds maintenance tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of sprinkler systems and ability to repair such systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work with staff, teachers and students at various educational levels.
• Proficient communicator with interpersonal skills across district staff and community.
• Able and willing to work in a team atmosphere.
• Ability to work independently when necessary.
• Ability to use constructive techniques to resolve conflict.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Principal and Facility Manager to ensure a safe environment.
• Cuts lawns, trims and edges around walks, beds, and walls.
• Prunes shrubs and trees to shape growth.
• Sprays fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides.
• Maintains and repairs sprinkler systems.
• Rakes leaves and manages grounds cleanup.
• Cleans grounds and removes litter.
• Plants grass, flowers, trees, shrubs.
• Waters lawn and shrubs.
• Repairs fences, gates, walls, and walks; paints fences and outbuildings.
• Cleans drainage ditches and culverts.
• Sharpens tools and maintains equipment.
• Makes minor repairs on equipment such as mower and spreader.
