Job summary

Spring Lake Park Schools is seeking a Custodian to perform general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds; maintain equipment; and assist students, teachers, visitors and others as needed.

Responsibilities include securing buildings, cleaning rooms and floors, snow removal, deliveries and event setup. A high school diploma and prior custodial experience are preferred; occasional travel between campuses may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or completion of sufficient education to perform duties.
• Previous experience in building and cleaning maintenance desirable.
• Ability to pass pre-work physical.
• [State] Motor Vehicle Operator's license or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Check and secure building at beginning and end of shift to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Clean rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways and other areas.
• Sweep, mop, buff, strip and wax floors.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and blinds.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors and sills.
• Remove graffiti and clean glass areas.
• Set up and break down chairs, tables and equipment for meetings.
• Clear snow from entrances and walks and spread sand/ice melt.
• Perform grounds-keeping duties and assist deliveries.
