Job summary

Qualifications

• Standing for prolonged periods.
• Able to lift materials weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Exposure to heat while cooking and preparing foods.
• Dexterity to handle knives and kitchen equipment.
• Hazards may include cuts and burns.
• Experience with a computerized POS system is a plus.
• ServSafe certificate would be a plus.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and adhere to food safety procedures.
• Produce appealing, nutritious meals and snacks to maintain and grow program participation and satisfaction for students and adults.
• Ensure proper serving temperature and palatability of food prior to serving.
• Ensure proper portion control to minimize waste and prevent shortages.
• Handle cash and transactions quickly and appropriately.
• Follow procedures to maintain inventory levels and rotate stock.
• Maintain sanitation in the facility following safe food handling practices.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Manager or Food Service Director/Assistant.
