Job summary

Cedar Rapids Community School District's Hiawatha Elementary is seeking a Food Service Assistant for a nine-month position aligned with the school calendar. You will assist with food preparation, serve meals, manage POS duties, and process daily tallies for reimbursements in a team-focused school environment.

The role offers a wage of $15.89 per hour, district benefits, and a schedule that matches students' hours, with summers off and evenings/weekends free.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of school food service program, nutritional standards, and sanitation.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships to support a team atmosphere.
• Strong comunicação and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and handling as assigned.
• Serve as POS for breakfast and lunch and verify reimbursable meals.
• Process daily tally counts for claim reimbursement.
• Maintain cleanliness and assist with general cleanup duties.
• Attend training and follow procedures; arrive on time.
