The Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking a nine-month Food Service Assistant to work 4 hours daily (9:30am–1:30pm) with summers off and aligns with the school schedule. This role supports meal preparation, serving, POS operations, and daily tallying for reimbursements.

Applicants should know school food service standards, maintain sanitation, and communicate well with staff and students. High school diploma preferred; benefits follow the work agreement; hourly pay is $15.89.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of school food service program, nutritional standards, and sanitation.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships to support a team atmosphere.
• Process strong communication skills and customer service.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsabilités

• Perform general work connected with the operation of food service, including preparation and handling.
• Assist with cooking as necessary and serve meals.
• Wash and dry pots, pans, trays, and silverware; participate in serving quality food.
• Operate POS for breakfast and lunch and verify reimbursable meals.
• Process daily tally counts for claim reimbursement.
• Maintain open communication with staff and assist with requested trainings.
• Attend work as scheduled and follow procedures for attendance.
