Job summary

Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking a Food Service Assistant for Roosevelt. The role aligns with the school schedule, is a nine-month position, and pays $15.89 per hour. Hours run 8:00am to 1:30pm, five and a half hours daily, with summers off and district benefits per the work agreement.

Primary duties include food preparation, serving, POS operation, and daily tallying for reimbursements. Opportunities for training and cross-functional collaboration are provided within the Food &

Qualifications

• Knowledge of school food service program, nutritional standards, and sanitation.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships to support a team atmosphere.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate the food service area including preparation and handling of food.
• Assist with cooking as needed.
• Wash and dry pots, pans, trays, and silverware; serve quality food.
• Work flexible hours.
• Serve as POS for breakfast and lunch and verify meals.
• Process daily tally counts for reimbursement.
• Assist with general cleanup duties.
• Maintain open communication with the Food & Nutrition Department.
• Attend trainings and meetings as requested.
• Arrive on time and follow procedures.
