Job summary

CDL with P/S endorsements is required or obtained upon training. On-call availability is expected for emergencies and routine work order follow-ups.

Qualifications

• Two-year mechanic training or equivalent experience.
• Georgia CDL license with P and S Endorsements (or must be obtained at first training opportunity).
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and Health Performance Evaluation (HPE).
• High School graduate or GED preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, road check to diagnose problems and perform repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on buses and other school vehicles.
• Repair engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems and other components.
• Operate school vehicles and equipment and communicate with drivers.
• Be on call 24 hours a day for emergencies and on-call support.
• Prepare reports and maintain records; keep tools and equipment in safe condition.
