Job summary

Campbell County School District is seeking a Bus Mechanic to ensure district vehicles are safe and reliable. You will diagnose and repair mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and document all work to meet regulatory requirements.

The role requires CDL Type B with endorsement, commitment to safety, and ability to work with a team in a school transportation environment. Training and ongoing certification are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience with preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
• Ability to diagnose vehicle malfunctions and determine repairs.
• Ability to fabricate parts and provide items needed for repairs.
• CDL Type B with PSEndorsement required; CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Maintains logs and records to meet federal/state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Adjusts parts and systems to ensure fitness and proper operation of vehicles.
• Performs preventive maintenance and safety inspections on district vehicles.
• Diagnoses malfunctions and determines necessary repairs or replacements.
• Repairs diesel/gasoline engines, transmissions, and other systems as needed.
• Replaces defective parts and conducts road tests to verify repair quality.
• Prepares repair and maintenance records for compliance.
