Job summary

Poplarbluffschools is seeking a Custodian to perform general cleaning and maintenance in district facilities. The role includes cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas, plus light maintenance, setup for events, and snow removal as needed.

You will work under the supervision of the Principal and Facilities Director and help keep buildings safe and welcoming for students and staff. Strong English communication and reliability are required; previous custodial experience is

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience in cleaning/maintenance desirable.
Valid driver's license or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

Check and secure building at start and end of shift for safety and cleanliness.
Clean rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, and other areas per district standards.
Sweep, mop, buff, strip, and wax floors.
Clean rugs, carpets, upholstery, and blinds.
Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills.
Replace light bulbs.
Set up and break down chairs, tables, and equipment for meetings.
Clear snow from entrances and pathways and spread ice-melting materials.
Perform grounds-keeping duties and assist in deliveries and waste removal.
